Forgotten Angels

Things started off a little rough. In the rush to clean up after hurricane Milton my promised tent and sleeping bag were forgotten. No problem, I’m a big boy and can certainly put up a tent. Even if I’ve never seen that type before.

It’s pitch dark and I’m wandering around looking for a place to camp with my tiny flashlight. Found a place and proceeded to figure it out. Then I thought to look up. A huge branch loomed right above me. Time to pick up the tent and move it about 8 feet.

Grabbed my gear and started moving in. As I did, a fellow walked by and asked “Don’t you have an air mattress? Let me grab one for you!”

I pulled it out of the bag and some one else brought over his air pump.

Now I’m not that spry, so me in a little 2 man tent was straight out of a Charlie Chaplain move. I had to laugh.

Home

Spent most of the evening walking around meeting folks I knew of from the discord channel. A text bulletin board type service.

Next asked where the lavatory and shower was for the next morning.

Cold cold cold! But better than nothing.

On to the next day…
